At Amplify Physio, our goal is
to PREVENT injuries, REDUCE pain,
RESTORE function,
and IMPROVE your quality of life.
Our 3 Step Process To Recovery
STEP 1: Find the Root Cause of Your Pain
First, we must find the root cause of your pain or dysfunction. We will discuss in depth your past medical and injury history followed by a comprehensive total body assessment. We are not simply looking at the site of pain but taking in the body as a whole system. This will guide our long-term strategy for your treatment.
STEP 2: Reduce/Eliminate Pain and Restore Function
Once we have found the source of your pain, we will then develop a treatment plan to eliminate your pain and restore function. We then get you moving with appropriate corrective exercises that help you confidently transition back to the activities that you love.
STEP 3: Build Long-term Resilence
Once your pain has been eliminated and function restored, we will then progress to more challenging and complex movements to ensure that you are ready to return back to all of your activities. This will ensure that you have met or exceeded your goals, and prevent future injuries from occuring.

Katie enjoys helping active adults and athletes get back to the workouts and sports they love. Her interest in Physical Therapy began as an injured athlete throughout high school and college. She played college basketball at Belmont University and spent a lot of time in PT in order to return to playing basketball as quickly as possible.
After becoming a Physical Therapist, she worked in a local physical therapy clinic where she had to see multiple patients at the same time. She was unable to provide the quality of care that she desired and is thankful that in starting her own practice she is now able to spend 45-60 QUALITY minutes with each of her patients.
Another thing Katie noticed is that there is very little overlap in restoring function, reducing pain and working out. She understands the importance of being pain-free but does not overlook the health and fitness aspect of rehabilitation. Reducing and preventing pain is not always enough.. but assisting patients in returning to their fitness endeavors and workout routines is what she loves most about her business.
Katie is a Herman and Wallace trained pelvic floor physical therapist. She has also received training in BirthFit and became a certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. After experiencing pregnancy firsthand, Katie has seen the lack of resources out there for pre- and postpartum women. She has a passion for educating and empowering women and giving them the tools and resources to know that no matter how many weeks, months or years postpartum - or if you're currently pregnant- that women don't have to live with pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction or diastasis recti. Many issues can be addressed pre- or postpartum to prevent or reduce symptoms and get back to living an active and healthy lifestyle!
Katie graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science from Belmont University, and then completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Belmont University.
She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Specialist (PCES) and certified in Dry Needling. She is also trained in McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis, Birthfit and SFMA.

What People Are Saying About Amplify Physio

Can't recommend Katie enough! I went to Katie because I was tired of being put through the assembly line at the typical PT offices. I think everyone is a unique case and needs to be listened to. I'm a very active guy and because of it I brought in a host of injuries and complications from my past. Katie is one of those few medical professionals who cares about imparting wisdom related to how your body works rather than quickly showing you a stretch or exercise from a one size fits all standard recommendation. She loves teaching! I always loved being able to take home knowledge rather than just a print out that I probably could have simply googled. If you really need and care about your rehab/health, you need to go to someone like Katie. It's a difference maker.

I was a 65-year-old “newlywed” when I first started my physical therapy with Katie Spruell in the fall of 2016. I had just moved to Nashville to a house with 4 levels. I had torn my meniscus and had also had a non-cancerous tumor removed from my hip. I had all sorts of problems. My back hurt, my knees hurt, and the list went on and on. After about 2 weeks, I could tell a tremendous improvement. Katie went on to become my personal trainer, and although I am not a poster child for one who has a trainer, she taught me a lot about how to bend over to pick up things and other helpful tips. I had been doing a lot of things wrong, and it has finally caught up with me.
Katie is a very positive person and just the type of person I need to be around. I highly recommend her as a therapist and trainer.

Highly recommend KS Fitness + Co (*previous business name) to anyone at any fitness level. Katie was my physical therapist for a second round of PT after I broke my tibia. Having come from the PT world, she understands the physiology of the body from the inside out. Combining that knowledge with her experience in collegiate sports, and a passion for continued education in both nutrition and fitness, makes her program dynamite. This is the first well rounded fitness program I have seen that builds from the ground up, establishing the correct basics to prevent injury, build strength, and improve health sustainably. I’ve gone through high school sports, weight lifting classes, and personal trainers, and nothing compares to the value her program provides. Seriously y’all, reach out and give her 12 week program a try. If you don’t see results then I guess pigs can fly :)

Katie has that rare combination of being utterly professional and expert at what she does, and at the same time being warm, open, funny, and giving of her personality. I'm a retired man who came to Katie in a physical therapy setting with a minor shoulder injury. After working with Katie, I experienced a vast improvement in my condition.
After an initial evaluation, Katie uses her knowledge of the human body and how it works to design a plan that's tailored to your specific needs and goals. And without being pushy or prying, she takes an interest in you as a person. When I mentioned a second condition that was giving me trouble, to my surprise she volunteered to help with that condition, too. It was obvious that she was committed to my total health and fitness, sometimes offering nutrition tips as well.
Katie is always upbeat and positive, but she makes sure you understand the work you have to do to improve. My treatment plan included me exercising on my own at home. But she respected my free time and was sensitive to never overload me with too much exercise "homework."
I'm feeling great now. Bottom line: We got the job done and we had fun! One caution: If she likes the music that's playing, she sometimes spontaneously starts dancing.
I recommend Katie wholeheartedly as your Physical Therapist and Personal Trainer. Her deep knowledge of her profession, her ability to establish an instant rapport with her clients, her caring manner, and because she's a blast to work with. And most important of all-she gets results!

I first started seeing Katie after a full hip replacement. I required three months of therapy and she got me through it with amazing results. I am pain free and have full mobility in my hip. I was so impressed with her that I started weekly personal training sessions to keep on track with my great results and to work on my overall fitness goals. I don't think words do her justice. Her incredible focus and knowledge paired with her positivity makes physical therapy /training a great experience. Hard work under her guidance has gotten me pain free and happy with my my body. I highly recommended Katie.

My doctor referred me to Katie after my shoulder injury. I was in a lot of pain and had very limited motion with my arm. Katie took her time to explain what was happening to my shoulder and the surrounding muscle tissues. After following her recommended exercises and stretches, my shoulder feels amazing! Katie is extremely knowledgeable and caring. Highly recommended!
