Our 3 Step Process to Recovery
STEP 1: Find the Root Cause of Your Pain
First, we must find the root cause of your pain or dysfunction. We will discuss in depth your past medical and injury history followed by a comprehensive total body assessment. We are not simply looking at the site of pain but taking in the body as a whole system. This will guide our long-term strategy for your treatment.
STEP 2: Reduce/Eliminate Pain and Restore Function
Once we have found the source of your pain, we will then develop a treatment plan to eliminate your pain and restore function. We then get you moving with appropriate corrective exercises that help you confidently transition back to the activities that you love.
STEP 3: Build Long-term Resilence
Once your pain has been eliminated and function restored, we will then progress to more challenging and complex movements to ensure that you are ready to return back to all of your activities. This will ensure that you have met or exceeded your goals, and prevent future injuries from occuring.

Katie enjoys helping active adults and athletes get back to the workouts and sports they love. Her interest in Physical Therapy began as an injured athlete throughout high school and college. She played college basketball at Belmont University and spent a lot of time in PT in order to return to playing basketball as quickly as possible.
After becoming a Physical Therapist, she worked in a local physical therapy clinic where she had to see multiple patients at the same time. She was unable to provide the quality of care that she desired and is thankful that in starting her own practice she is now able to spend 45-60 QUALITY minutes with each of her patients.
Another thing Katie noticed is that there is very little overlap in restoring function, reducing pain and working out. She understands the importance of being pain-free but does not overlook the health and fitness aspect of rehabilitation. Reducing and preventing pain is not always enough.. but assisting patients in returning to their fitness endeavors and workout routines is what she loves most about her business.
Katie is a Herman and Wallace trained pelvic floor physical therapist. She has also received training in BirthFit and became a certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. After experiencing pregnancy firsthand, Katie has seen the lack of resources out there for pre- and postpartum women. She has a passion for educating and empowering women and giving them the tools and resources to know that no matter how many weeks, months or years postpartum - or if you're currently pregnant- that women don't have to live with pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction or diastasis recti. Many issues can be addressed pre- or postpartum to prevent or reduce symptoms and get back to living an active and healthy lifestyle!
Katie graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science from Belmont University, and then completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Belmont University.
She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Specialist and certified in Dry Needling. She is also trained in McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis, Birthfit and SFMA.
